Asian online gambling is making waves in the gambling industry, and if you watch the trend in online gambling, the Asian jurisdictions are ready to explode. The Global Gaming Asia conference being held in Macau is receiving factual confirmation that Asia will soon become the online casino gambling capital of the world, and will outshine the USA.
Frank Fahrenkopf, Chief of the American Gaming Association, stated that the growth of the gambling market in Asia has been incredible. He added that recent statistics prove that Asia has unlimited potential, and was likely to emerge as a ‘significant part’ of the global market unaffected by the ban in the USA.
Currently, Asian countries are combining significant potential including Singapore, Australia, Cambodia, Malaysia and the Philippines, but Japan with its obsolete laws regarding online gambling is loosing the race and also huge revenues as well. There are neither online gambling casinos in Japan nor Internet gambling, as the activity is banned in Japan. Japan’s preventive measures for offshore gambling have proven inadequate, and players are using offshore websites to play their favorite games.
Statistics have proved that nearly 10 million Japanese citizens regularly play at online casinos. Sheldon Adelson, CEO of the Sands, had categorically stated at the opening of ‘Marina Bay Casino in Macau’, that the Japanese view gaming as a form of entertainment, while the Westerners would rather spend money on dining and socializing with friends. It’s now time for Japan to take a few strong decisions with regard to Internet gambling, and whether they would like to be a part of the Asian gaming world!
